The financial services industry has seen major changes over the years. Until the 1970s, financial services consisted of a few well-defined and separate industries that dealt in money. The convergence of companies offering financial services has blurred the conventional boundaries that once separated banks, brokerages, and insurance companies. Innovations in technology and products, changes in regulations and taxes, and market volatility has been challenging for financial professionals over the past several decades.

Financial services today strive to provide customers with a vast portfolio of integrated financial products and services. And although new capabilities and approaches are required to better serve clients needs and demands, the industry has stepped up and the opportunity for financial service professionals to not only grow an amazing business but to thrive, is greater than ever. Financial services professionals have an even greater opportunity to help so many people while at the same time, building a profitable business ethically and efficiently. The opportunity to do well while doing good is here today more than ever.

The industry will continue to evolve making financial products and services better for clients and in the long run for the financial services profession as well. Change has become and will remain the norm for the long-term. Financial professionals who not only embrace change, but also seek it, out will thrive above and beyond the competition.

Nancy built and sold an extremely successful practice from a very unique and challenging background.

While in the process of a divorce with no child support, alimony or other source of income and only $2,000 to her name, Nancy moved herself and her children 70 miles and started her own business in an industry she knew nothing about.

At the new location she was offered a salaried position at a higher pay than she ever had before but realized they were hiring her at “the top of the ladder” leaving no place to grow. Nancy knew she did not want a job – she needed a career, so she proceeded to start her own financial planning and asset management business.

Knowing nothing about saving, investing or financial planning and having never owned a CD, mutual fund or anything other than a savings account, Nancy set out to learn what she needed, to do a great job for her clients and build a successful business. After building the business to $200 million in assets under management, Nancy sold her practice.

As a financial advisor she achieved many awards including Million dollar round table, Dalbar Financial Professional Seal, President’s Advisory Council, Hall of Fame, Diamond Ring Award, Platinum Advisor, Master Advisor and many more.

Since selling her practice, as the owner of “Above All Else, Success in Life and Business®”, with over 35 years of experience, Nancy is a national professional motivational speaker, award-winning author and business coach. She uses her business and financial knowledge to help financial professionals do a better job for their clients while improving their bottom line and helps individuals live more successful, fulfilling lives and realize their dreams. She also writes the material and teaches continuing education classes to financial advisors, insurance professionals and divorce attorneys.

Nancy was appointed a delegate to The United Nations for The Commission on The Status of Women for 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023, attending sessions at the UN with approx.10,000 women from all over the world coming together to share challenges and the solutions to overcome them.

Nancy has been quoted in Money magazine, USA Today, Forbes, US News and World Report, The National Business Institute, The Financial Planning Association magazine, The New England Real Estate Journal, AARP, The Chicago Tribune and many more.
