I will be your instructor for a  4-hour continuing education class for financial advisors and insurance professionals to maintain their licenses.

What you will learn:

  • Recognize the major tenets of the federal E-Sign Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) as they apply to insurance transactions
  • Know the major elements of the electronic commerce marketplace as it applies to insurance
  • State security and safeguarding responsibilities of insurers and licensees, particularly in light of our eCommerce and mobile device environment
  • Indicate primary privacy issues of concern in the insurance industry
  • Distinguish between the producer’s responsibility to customarily keep information “confidential” and required processes to safeguard “private” information
  • Recall the major responsibilities of licensees under applicable privacy laws and regulations
  • Understand the importance of state E-Commerce and ESign laws and regulations as an insurance licensee
  • Identify the major elements of an insurance office security program
  • Define security and privacy tools and processes, such as encryption, firewall and digital signature
  • Understand the important place of legal disclosure in insurance transactions and how this applies in E commerce transactions
  • State legal social media practices for insurance producers
  • Evaluate client situations to determine the appropriate insurance E-Practice response
