Why some Americans of Retirement Age are Choosing Not to Retire
Some people find in their work a sense of identity with who they are. Others enjoy the structure that a work week provides. Stepping out of that comfort zone and into retirement, for some is a scary thought. They question what they will do with the 40 plus hours a week they will have on their hands and where the money will come from to provide the lifestyle they have become used to. The answer for some is to continue working and stay with “what they know” rather than deal with the uncomfortable unknown.
If you begin planning for retirement early, both financially and emotionally, you may be able to eliminate or reduce stress associated with this important life change and be able to really enjoy this special time in your life.
