Are Entrepreneurs Born or Made?

As an entrepreneur myself for 30 years and a coach to business owners across the country, I believe the answer is both. And here is why.

Born: Some people are born with a certain talent. Running a successful business can just come naturally to them. With just a little training, the rest just falls into place. They tend to think “out of the box”, put in whatever hours are necessary and are forward thinkers and planners by nature.

Made: Some people can be taught to be a great entrepreneur. They can learn either by taking classes, working for someone else in the same line of work first or reading books on the subject. As long as they are committed, willing to do things that may be uncomfortable or they just don’t like to do and spend time at least weekly working on the changes that are necessary to be successful, they can do it too.
