Finding Co-Workers That Have Very Different Personalities Can Make For a Happier and More Productive Workplace
I believe many people spend more of their awake hours at work than anywhere else. And life is too short to not enjoy what you do. Also, if you enjoy your work, odds are you will do a better job.
I recommend not only evaluating the strengths and passions of each owner and potential owner, but also each staff member. Each person should be required to really think through and write down the answers to the following questions. What do I do in my current position with this company that I:
1. love doing and I am good at it?
2. am good at, but I really don’t like doing it?
3. am not good at and really shouldn’t be doing?
Imagine what it would be like to have a business where everyone is doing what they love to do and are great at. In a perfect world, that is what a great business would look like. However, the world is not perfect. To have a better running business with everyone happier at work and therefore happier more loyal clients, business owners should continually work toward this goal.
