When You Are Given a Referral How Do You Say Thank You?
Many businesses such as mine have legal guidelines for the amount that can be spent on clients. I always try to think out of the box and come up with something unique. First a personal handwritten thank you note from me is a must. With today’s technology, a handwritten note unfortunately rarely seems to happen anymore.
When working with clients I make a note in their file of the things or people in their life that mean a lot to them. I then have a “customize gift” sent to them. For the golfer, it may be a dozen of their favorite golf balls. For babysitting grandparents it could be tickets to the movies or the zoo, for new parents it can be a gift certificate for professional portraits. The list is endless when you take the time to really know your client.
